The hotel is well-maintained with exceptionally nice and helpful (bilingual) staff. Very comfortable room and bed. The breakfast area can be quite congested. Be aware that this hotel is not within walking distance of the old city; you need to drive in. However, there are parking garages for $20/day CDN. (The hotel itself has free parking.) One big quibble though. The bathrooms are lovely, with heated floors and lighted, defogging mirrors. However, the toilet paper is absolutely horrible. It’s ridiculously thin - maybe 1/4 ply if that. It’s a shame to go to such lengths to make the bathroom nice and then ruin it with something so cheap. (False economy too when you have to use about 6 feet of the stuff to equal 5 normal squares.). Please fix this!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. It is well appointed and is family oriented. Seems very popular with families with children because of the indoor pool and children’s play area. Our room was spotless!! The cleaning staff must work really hard to keep the rooms in tip top shape. Although the rooms could do with a little more soundproofing everyone was very respectful of the quiet time after 10 pm. There was no noise whatsoever. All in all we had a great stay at the hotel. For a budget hotel, this was value for money. I say this because where I was meant to stay (5 star hotel) in Quebec was already booked and I eventually went to that 5-star hotel for my seminar. That gave me an opportunity to compare my service with the 5-star hotel; I can confidently say that was good value-for-money and money well spent. My only complaint was that they said the beds would be changed on the 3rd night; my assumption and previous experience was that beddings and room cleaning was done daily. Nevertheless, the receptionist sent someone since I requested for a clean up. The hotel is also good for kids; they have a play area and the kids loved it. The hotel also gave us a free bus pass which let us enjoy the city. Overall, I will recommend the hotel and staff.

Enjoyed our recent four night stay at Le Dauphin. The hotel was recently renovated and the upgrades are very thoughtful, including coffee, juice, and water dispensers and a sink right in the lobby, heated floors in the bathrooms, board games available from the front desk, microwaves and refrigerators in the room, and so on. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast buffet was a treat. Public areas like the pool, gym, and breakfast eating area are a bit tight but do the job. Areas for improvement could include heavier bedding and more frequent housekeeping (currently every three nights).

Overall the guest amenities are very good. However I had issues with check in. When the hotel tried to place a hold on my card prior to my arrival my bank unfortunately blocked it, as I was mid- flight to Canada, so obviously couldn't confirm the transaction. I landed to two emails from the hotel telling me my room could no longer be guaranteed unless I arrived by 4pm. Despite my emailing to explain what had happened and confirm my arrival, the reply again suggested my room would be gone. This is obviously concerning for a solo female traveller, especially when the issue could be easily resolved once I was there. From an amenity point of view this hotel is good, large clean rooms, good breakfast. Perhaps not suited to those without a car as the bus takes a long time into the Old Town and taxis add up after a day or so!

Lots are included. Extremely clean. Small entrance and not enough trolleys for luggage. Parking is a little small but 3 free electric car parkings. Sheets for the bed are too short and very noisy. Pillows are not comfortable, bring your own. Breakfast was great, not a lot of choices (just ham, no sausages or bacon for example) but it was good and always full when you go early (7am). Unlimited drinks (juices, water, coffee, hot coco) was a ++. Little park for the kids on synthetic grass is great. Close location for anything in Quebec city. Loved our journey.

We talked to hotel staff they didn’t care at all plus their excuse was people they short time if they have pets with them. Four night stay with hotel didn’t get slept because of bed and crazy bed or mattress in our room it was not concern to them but they have to charge us for pet $20 each day. This is totally true reviews about this hotel. Breakfast was great plus hotel cleaned plus staff they were great BUT bed or mattress was crazy disappointing. Very good personnel, good place but I was astonished by the absence of the heater in the bathroom and it was cold in the room and impossible to put higher temperature. No carpet on the floor, it's a bit surprising and makes the room less kozy. And absence of breakfast - I chose this hotel for that because my child's love to stay at a hotel and have this option, to choose whatever they want. At Expedia it was mentioned that the hotel has breakfast, in reality it was lunch boxes. Thanks a lot for the staff, they are really professionals and very kind. I was really upset that the hotel requires a deposit, instead of just asking for a credit card. At the checkout, the deposit was not refunded directly in my credit card, but instead, I have to wait until the room is checked and then trust that the hotel will return the funds in 10 working days. The cost of the room was 130, which means that I have to disburse almost double of the normal fare, which is outrageous. When expressing politely my surprise to the receptionist checking me out, she raised her voice in a very arrogant way. (Nov. 4 at 8:30 am) This is unfortunate, because the receptionist was very polite and cordial at my checkin. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the hotel provides good facilities, I do not think I will stay with you ever again.

I was disappointed at check in as the reception could speak little English and did not give me the accomodation that I had requested. ( I was told previously that I could have two rooms on the same floor, as I was travelling with family.) They would not arrange this so I was on the first floor whereas the rest of my party was on the fourth floor. . Reception was not friendly when I checked in. The following day a new clerk at reception was very friendly, accomodating and helpful and spoke good English. I did not care for the boxed breakfast as there was little of it I could eat. Would have preferred to have a choice for breakfast, if only toast and a hot beverage. I found the accomodation was not adequate for the price I paid for the rooms. ( One thousand dollars for two nights.)

I can appreciate having lack of staff due to COVID but your hotel need to lighten up on the restrictions. I choose the hotel for the children amenities. The pool limitations just doesn't work. Pretty good stay at the hotel. If you need a convenient place to stay not too far from site seeing and budget friendly for a family with a good breakfast, this is the hotel. This is very convenient as there is limited parking downtown and with the construction season many detours to navigate if your driving. The hotel met all our needs for this short trip other than it was a little further out of the city than I realized. It's a little hard to judge on the maps on the booking sites as they are not true to scale. We had to pay a taxi to drop off the luggage and another to get back into town. The hotel does offer a shuttle service but it only picks up once in the morning and returns once about 5 pm. We signed up for the return to the hotel on the first day but no bus showed up. On the 2nd day it worked very well but we would have liked an option to stay in the city and return after dinner.

I really liked to stay at Hotel Le Dauphin in Quebec city. Nice location, nice staff, good breakfast, clean and quiet. My only concern has been that when I reserved I informed the hotel that I was also travelling with a small dog. When I arrived, I gave my credit card, I payed and then I have been informed that I cannot leave the dog alone unless I am in the hotel, at the pool or the restaurant for instance. I planned to go to a restaurant in Quebec city. That was one of the reasons I travelled there. I would have left my dog alone at the hotel a couple of hours. This has been denied from the staff at my arrival. I should have know before I reserved these 3 nights because I would have rent in an hotel which accept that we left quiet dogs alone in the bedroom for a couple of hours.

I had high hopes for the hotel. It looked fine on the outside and my child enjoyed the small play structure. Check in was efficient and staff were friendly. The room itself was disappointing. There were smudges all over the windows and soap scum/splashes all over the bathroom door. The floors didn’t appear to be overly clean, and neither did the sinks or bathtub fixtures. The bottom of the mirror in the bathroom was rusty as well, and there were rust coloured spots on the wallpaper. Soundproofing was less than at most hotels where I’ve stayed, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. One of them made noise every time we moved. The bedding felt cheap and was not breathable, which left me uncomfortably hot and sweaty despite the air conditioning. I have a habit of checking for bed bugs when we go to hotels. I have been fortunate to not have found any signs anywhere else up until my stay at this hotel. There were rust coloured stains on the sheet and mattress protector and what appeared to be old exoskeletons in the seams of the bed skirt. This all made for a very uncomfortable and stressful night and it was difficult to sleep. Since my child was exhausted and already asleep by the time I discovered this (and his bed seemed fine), I did not bring it to the attention of the staff. Breakfast boxes were convenient but did not have the same variety found in most places that offer complimentary breakfasts. The shuttle service would have been convenient had we been able to spend more time in the city. It was a nice perk that we were unfortunately unable to utilize. Overall, although there were some positives, I was disappointed with our stay and do not think I would stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.

This was the third time we stayed at the hotel. Very conveniently located close to the Wendat village and downtown Quebec City. The hotel offers a complementary bus service to downtown. I wish they had a few other locations to stay at.

For the price point of this hotel I was a bit disapointed... They kept the breakfast box from covid times, which is great if you're on the go but quite disapointing when you are expecting a breakfast ``buffet style`` . You can also only go in the pool for 30 mins and you need to book in advance (they only allow 10 people at a time), we only had the choice for one timeslot of 30 mins, we were also pretty shocked at how cold the pool was, I don't think it was heated at all. When I booked online I had the choice to add a foam mattress (10$) in the room, which is one of the reason I decided on this hotel. When I got there they told me that they weren't allowed to have the foam mattress in the room I booked.... I also had to ask for the refund of it... The staff was courteous and the hotel room was nice. Also the coffee machine in the lobby is a nice addition. If it wasnt for the steep price I would say this is a perfectly fine hotel, but at the price point it is, I was expecting more...

Situated beside a 6 lane highway but there is No, Nada, None, Zip sound in the room. (Quieter than at home.) If you need "white noise" you'd have to turn on the bathroom fan but you wouldn't be able to hear that when you pulled up the covers. No a/c sounds. The temperature just changes. Beds were the best I've ever slept in and I've travelled extensively for work and leisure. Unfortunately no breakfast buffet due to post-covid staffing issues but the "box" breakfast was fine. Originally booked in Old Quebec but upon looking at (and translating with 65 year old high school French) the reservation determined it was for a single queen not two twins as requested so went on a booking website and this came up at well under 1/2 the price.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. The afternoon before our checkout we had car trouble and it happened about two hours prior to most mechanics closing times. We don’t speak French and we were so grateful for the help we received from the front desk and especially from one of the maintenance employees, his name was Oliver. He spent over an hour with us outside in the heat calling all the mechanics in the area trying to find someone able to check out our car. He managed to find one place that could see our car but until noon the next day. He truly went above and beyond to help us.

The only option was the sweet box for vegetarians for breakfast. This could have been simply fixed with an option of just the croissant and cheese. The muffins were so sweet it was like a dessert cake. The dessert box was a good idea. Maybe consider changing up the breakfast options little each day. The juice water and coffee was excellent! The overall customer service from the staff was good.

It was about a 20 minute drive to the Hotel Frontenac area. A free trip was prided to the City once a day. The hotel provided a decent box breakfast everyday. Complained on day 3 out of 5 that the shower head was horrible. In fact it stressed me out more than anything. Water was going every which way, not where I needed it and sprayed me in the face. I was asked if I wanted to change rooms, well not with only two nights left. Next day I had to ask if someone went to go see the shower, "yes we have to order a piece." So I was not told someone had even seen it. Then offered to change rooms again, with only one night left. Upon check out no inquiry about my stay and no offer for a small discount. I booked a room which was originally advertised at below 160/night on Expedia and neglected to look at the final cost before hand. (My fault totally!). So I paid 179, 189 and 209 because of the New Year's holiday weekend. My 88 year old mother was hospitalized urgently and I spent the last 2 of my nights with her at the hospital. The last morning I explained my situation at reception and asked for a late check-out so I could sleep a bit. I was declined because apparently I got a special price through Expedia. Wow, last time for sure I stay there.

It seemed like this hotel was trying to skimp on whatever they could. The hotel itself was nice, however I had many issues with this hotel that will make me to never stay here again. We were under the assumption that the breakfast would be a hot breakfast served in the seating area. We received a boxed lunch with muffins, cheese, yoghurt etc. One of the reasons we wanted to stay at the hotel was because of the breakfast. My children did not want to eat what was in the boxes so we ended up having to buy breakfast every morning that we stayed there which ended up costing us more money. You needed to make a reservation to use the pool up to a maximum of 30 min per day per room. When you booked the hotel because of the pool, this really sucks when you have such a small window. It should be open to everyone at all times with capacity limits of course. We stayed for 3 nights. Not once did someone ever come to offer us towels or take out the garbage in our room. They do not come to clean your room, unless you stay there for a minimum of 7 days. I find this is a little exaggerated. It should be done every 2 days. Overall, I paid $687 for 3 nights at this hotel. I will not stay here again.

A notre arrivée la réceptionniste nous dit ( vous êtes chanceuse il nous reste une seule chambre au red chaussé et c'est uniquement à cet étage que nous acceptons les chiens ). la chambre # 103 n'a aucune fenêtre qui donne à l'extérieur donc l'aération vient seulement des doc une fenêtre scellée donnait sur la piscine alors si jamais il y avai EUun feu et que nous ne pouvions pas sortir par la porte d'entrée de la chambre il aurait fallu que nous brisions la fenêtre scellée sans se blesser et sortir de cette fenêtre et nous aurions été sur la piscine . Ensuite le oreillée sont bourrées de mousse et tellement grosse impossible de les aplatir un peu et les matelas étaient fabriqués de la mêmes façon c.a.d. des bosses inégales . Pour finir la salle de laveuse sécheuse étaient situé la chambre voisine quelques 'un surement un client ,est venu lavé à 4:30 du matin on entendait la sécheuse fonctionner et ça entrait et sortait de cette pièce et là mon chien jappait sans arrêt alors notre nuit a été exécrables et je demande un remboursement total surtout pour la chambre qui n'avait aucune fenêtre extérieur et l'inconfort des oreillers et des lits Je ne recommande pas cette hotel

The hotel kepts their pandemic procedures and it hurts the overall experience. The includes breakfast is a box a random stuff (mostly not even breakfast food). The best of the boxes (the salty one) is never available because everyone picks it. The sweet box basically has a cake while the salty had a sandwich. Also, the pool needs to be reserved at the front desk. When we arrived, the person was super busy with 3 check-ins. Its only a 30mins time-frame so in order to not lose time, we cut the person talking to get her to open the pool door. The email said we'd be alone but 2 other families were added during our 30 mins. It's just an overall bad system for the employees to manage and the guest to go through. Aside from that, the hotel is clean, the rooms are good and the staff are very profesionnal and nice.

We loved our stay at your hotel. We thought it was a little congested around the checkout, boxed meal, coffee area. One suggestion would be to move the one coffee machine to the back of the eating area (closed off due to change in menu post-Covid) to reduce congestion since the coffee maker is a little slow and some people get multiple cups at once. The only reason we picked this hotel was that they were one of the few in Quebec City that permitted large dogs. While the staff were lovely and we were pleasantly surprised with them bringing us a dog bed, bowls, poop bags and treats, it did not make up for two uncomfortable nights of sleep. The bed was very firm and squeaky, and the bedding was very light. The fridge was obnoxiously loud and we had to unplug it each night. We could also hear chatter in the hallway and adjacent room. Thankfully we visited on a weekday, early in the work, I can't imagine the noise closer to the weekend. If you're planning to visit Old Quebec and can afford something closer to downtown with more comfortable bedding and better soundproofing, don't hesitate.

We were travelling from Ingersoll with friends from Tillsonburg and Thamesford.. We made the reservations by phone to the hotel early in the year knowing we were travelling to PEI and wanted a stop over in Quebec City. We booked all our hotels at all our stop overs (5)at the same time, we did it because there were 6 of us. We told each place in our conversations there were 6 adults so there was no misunderstandings about our room. We arrived at the hotel and when asked how many adults I said 6 just as our confirmation said. I was informed we would have to pay extra because a family room meant adults and children. Young girl turned to what appeared to be someone who maybe was more experienced and she said policy was family and we continued to say we booked 6 adults for the price on the confirmation. Asked to speak to manager, said she wasn't in. By this time others are signing in so getting a little embarassing . Finally the more experienced one left went to a room behind and came out and said this time only they will accept the price on the confirmation. Manager not in? In the morning when we checked out our credit card was charged the confirmation amount Unfortunately the check in kind of soured our visit at your hotel. Your hotel was the Only one that questioned the number of guests on our confirmations My suggestion would be to inform those taking reservations should clarify at the time of booking about your policies. You asked our opinion so I have honestly responded.

Overall, the stay was good. The small sofa in the room wasn't the most comfortable. I had to clean out the shower drain because water would accumulate while taking our shower. The included breakfast was good and had a wide variety of items (fruits, yogourt and granolas, cheeze, muffin and cookie). You could even ask for milk and cereals. Various beverages were available 24h a day. We were able to use the pool for 30 minutes. A great plus is that you can charge an electric car on one of three charge stations they have. This hotel is located near several main highways. I highly recommend this hotel.

The smartest thing this hotel did for us was to put us on the highest floor (4th) after our request for a quiet stay. It eliminated 1 potential noise from upstairs guests. The other remarkable thing was the subtle reminder (a warning actually) that noise was not tolerated after 10pm and that you could be charged if other guests complained. We've stayed here before, we've stayed here again and we'll come back in the future.

The pool is heated but still a little too cold for small children. You can use their towels as they have a clean towel rack in the pool area.A bathroom in the pool area is also a nice thing to have. Front desk staff was courteous, they did their job but it wasn't with a smile. We had a promotion for stay 2 nights and pay only for 1 but the front desk staff still charged me for 2. She didnt even tell me how much the total was until I asked and realized she charged me too much. The manager corrected the error. Overall, we had a good stay.
